Synopsis:
In Schaduw van de Leeuw short film/trailer, the viewer finds him/herself in a dark cave. A torch is lit and cave paintings are seen on the walls. When coming closer the paintings come alive and show important parts of Joeni’s story. Joeni is a young girl living 28,000 years ago with her clan. She has special dreams which get her in a lot of trouble. She feels excluded and hatted by her clan and often sits alone. There is one man who helps her understand her dreams and lets her paint them on the cave walls. The man however get’s sick and dies leaving Joeni alone again. Guided by her dreams she goes on a journey and meets a new friend. During their travels, they are greeted by many dangers including a lion attack. Eventually, Joeni discovers who she is and learns to understand her dreams.

Work Process: I sketched all the animals and figures on paper with chalk. I scanned these and imported them into photoshop to remove the background. This was my first time using Animate to make the figures move. I used photographs of rocks as a background to get a more cave like feel to the video.
